This week GinNation Australia's most exciting Gin awards opened, Australian Distillers can enter their gin's for consumer recognition and feedback.
For our passionate Australian consumers, gin is a way of life.
Launched in 2020 as the first consumer driven in Australia by gin pioneers The Gin Birds, created to provide a powerful synergy between consumer and distiller. Australia's most experienced Gin consumer judges will decide Australia's best gins while distilleries get valuable consumer feedback.
The awards launch on the heels of the consumer choice votes where consumers have been voting away for their favourite gins, with over 2000 submissions to date and rising for a special consumer choice category.
The judged categories will be conducted in a professional judging context only the Gin Birds have selected real consumers with an expansive knowledge on Australian Craft Gin.
At GinNation founders Chamaine and Suzan believe the best gins are homegrown here in Australia from our unique botanicals and talented gin distillers.
They also know the gin loving community are committed to supporting the best gin, and are thoroughly vocal about their favourites.
The GinNation Awards gives the experienced consumers a say about the best of Australian Gin and collectively decide which brands deserve the grand title. In addition, the team commit to sharing the consumer feedback to the Distillers.
A team of up to 12 judges have been selected following a rigorous screening and tryouts, The Gin Birds have handpicked the judges to show their knowledge, flair, preferences, and articulation of Australian Craft Gin. For many of our judges gin is a lifestyle and they are ambassadors of the consumer choice.
There was an influx of applicants demonstrating that Australia's passionate gin community are unlike any other with intimate knowledge of craft gin in the marketplace, and are committed to supporting Australian craft distillers. It was such a hard decision to turn away so many talented and passionate applicants with so much to give.
The judging will take place in a neutral location, Chamaine and Suzan chose the Sydney Venue Brix Distillers, still in keeping with Australian distilling but the guys at Brix solely make Rum not Gin.
